The Outlast Trials drags the series' signature terror into a cooperative setting, where you and up to three other "reagents" must survive gruesome experiments orchestrated by the Murkoff Corporation. Set during the Cold War, the game emphasizes stealth and teamwork, as combat is rarely an option against the deranged psychos stalking the trials. You can customize your character’s loadout with "rigs" that allow you to heal allies, stun enemies, or see through walls to gain a tactical edge. The loop involves completing twisted objectives and escaping to the Sleep Room to upgrade your abilities and decorate your cell. It is a stressful, heart-pounding experience that tests your nerves and your ability to coordinate under extreme pressure.
